Jigawa Rural Communities Calls For additional time of Old Naira Note
Tension In Jigawa As Old Naira Note Deadline clocks
Palpable and tension loomed among the Jigawa Rural communities as they found it difficult to get new Naira note to feed their children and do other transaction while old note are rejected ahead of CBN deadline.
It was observed that only ten local government out of 27 in the state has functional Banks in the state, the rural communities are grown in to untold hardship as they lack access to any institution for exchanging their old note with new ones.
Business and markets are almost shutdown across the state as a result of thee new Naira note scarcity while e- Banking appears to be unfriendly due to the lack of Bank account and literacy low level among the rural communities.
Mustapha Sulaiman of Kuma town Buji local government revealed that, there was no single CBN or any commercial Bank agent providing the people with new note in exchanging with old notes.
” Pls we in villages lack access to the new note, life is becoming very very unbelievable to us as old notes are rejected, We are calling on CBN governor to extend the deadline to avoid total breakdown of law ND order in our society, the security situation is very alarming ” Mustapha stated.
For a rural woman Hajiya Taltu who is lso one of the APC women leaders in Dangayami village Taura local government said, the old Nira notes deadline must be reviewed without further delay for rescuing the situation “
“We are politicians, this policy has potent negative infact to our camping and chances for APC to win the forthcoming general election, please Baba Buhari and CBN governor look in to our party future, and the difficulty our rural people re facing, extend the deadline and increase the withdraw limit for the sake of God” Talatu called.
